Since training as a coach with RD1st in 2016, coaching has become an increasingly important strand of my professional practice. I offer both one-to-one and team sessions, as well as mentoring support for individuals in their leadership development; particularly those working in the fields of community activism, music and the arts. My coaching practice is deeply intuitive, drawing on a variety of tools, techniques and creative practices to support the emergence of insight. I also integrate coaching perspectives into my work as a facilitator and trainer. Supporting clients with their thinking journeys can lead to swift, focused articulation of concrete goals, plans and actions through to long-term, reflective investigations into fundamental personal questions of meaning, values, selfhood and belonging. I take my cue from the client, whilst offering reflection, questioning, creative thinking strategies and gentle challenge.
I have a particular interest in working with women, and in 2021 co-created and co-delivered Spring Turning (March) and Autumn Turning (taking place October) with Helen Chadwick. These 4-session programmes combine reflective and coaching practices with short bursts of creative activity in a supportive atmosphere, encouraging participant to explore and reshape their personal vision for this time and this life.
Since 2020 I have been an Associate Coach with Koreo, working on the Community Leadership Academy, and in 2021 I was commissioned by Wicklow County Council (IRL) to provide coaching for artists as part of their COVID-19 recovery strategy.
